How to add page numbers to a PDF
Number every page with a starting value and position you choose.
- Select the PDF that needs page numbers.
- Choose a start number and a position at the top or bottom of the page.
- Select Add page numbers and check the numbered PDF.
Common questions and quick fixes
Can PDF page numbers start from a number other than 1?
Yes. Enter a starting number from 1 to 999999. The tool increases that number for each following page.
Can I skip the cover when adding page numbers?
The current tool numbers every page. It does not include a cover-page skip or a page-range option.
Why do page numbers overlap my document?
Your PDF may already use the selected margin area. Choose another of the six positions and check the result again.
Does this change page labels in my PDF viewer?
The tool adds visible numbers to the page. It does not change the internal page labels your PDF viewer may display.
Helpful tip: Check a page near the end as well as the first page to confirm the numbering.
